I've been making furniture since 1988 seeking to balance in the design of each piece the straight line with the gentle curve. Sometimes the graphics or even the amount of wood itself can give birth to an idea. Other times I'll make rough sketches and work toward ergonomic function, while giving the proportions esthetic interest. While I use dovetails and mortise & tenons for structural reasons, my goal has also been to convey a less mechanized, human feel to something that one may live and work with for a long time. I welcome an interchange in the process of creating graceful, hand-crafted furniture that encourages use, promotes enjoyment and invites discovery.
